Hello Everyone! I'm settled into my new base. It is nice because there are alot more Captains (people my rank) in my office. It makes for a more laid back feel. On the flip side, I am working for USFOR-A headquarters, so there are alot of very important high ranking people on my very small post.
I am practicing alot of different types of law, still some military justice but also fiscal law. Anyone who knows me from law school, knows that contract law usually frightens the heck out of me. However, I am learning alot and I think it is a great opportunity to deal with some interesting contracts.
Also, the food here is a little better and some of my cross-fit peers moved over here too and we are doing cross-fit here.
I am so thankful for everyone's thoughts, prayers, packages, letters, emails, etc over the holidays! Everyone's kindness truly got me through the toughest part of this deployment (well, I hope the toughest!) I am counting down the minutes until I come home for R&R and get to hold Ryann. I'm so proud of how big she is getting and am amazed of all the things that Craig, Georgia, and Adam have taught her to do, especially her latest trick of sign language.
I am also beaming with pride as to how cute my new nephew Luke is! I can't wait to meet him!
I haven't taken any pictures at my new base yet, but attached are a couple pics around Christmas time. The first one is me in my room with my fake tree and presents that my family sent. My mom still managed to bring the magic of Christmas to me while I was in Afghanistan. The other pictures is with my Mongolian students. They do not celebrate Christmas in their country, as they are mostly Buhddists. However, they loved the commercialized parts of Christmas and threw us a Christmas party. They even learned jingle bells and sang it to us!
Thanks again for your love and support! Thanks always to Georgia and Craig for everything they do for Adam, Ryann, Moose and I on a daily basis.
Love,
Rheanna
